Mountain Hollow
Coyamito / Laguna Agate Tumbled Stone
Coyamito and Laguna agates are location-specific varieties of translucent chalcedony—a form of cryptocrystalline quartz—found only in the mountainous regions of Chihuahua, Mexico.
Because these agates form in close proximity, they share many traits; once tumbled, their distinguishing features often soften. For this reason, they are offered here together as a combined lot, purchased directly from owners of both claims.
Laguna agates, in particular, are among the most sought-after in the world, admired for their vivid color bands—sometimes over a hundred per square inch—and for the rare parallax effect where alternating opaque and transparent layers create subtle movement and depth.
