Mountain Hollow

Blue Kyanite Specimen

$25

Kyanite is an aluminum silicate mineral best known for its elongated, bladed crystal habit. It commonly forms during the metamorphism of aluminum-rich rocks under high-pressure conditions, making its presence useful to geologists studying the conditions under which metamorphic rocks formed.

This specimen features an abundant grouping of blue kyanite blades intergrown with contrasting pale matrix. The overlapping crystals and variations in blue coloration beautifully show the naturally bladed structure characteristic of the mineral.
