Elbaite Tourmaline Crystal | Mozambique
Elbaite is a lithium-rich member of the tourmaline group, known for its remarkable range of colors—from nearly colorless to pink, green, blue, and very dark tones. Like other tourmalines, it crystallizes in the trigonal system and commonly forms elongated, strongly striated crystals with a characteristic rounded triangular cross-section.
This natural crystal is an unusually dark example of elbaite, displaying pronounced vertical striations and a distinctive triangular cross-section. When illuminated, subtle olive-golden tones become visible within portions of the otherwise nearly black crystal.
This is a thumbnail-sized mineral specimen presented in a clear Perky display box measuring 1.25 inches.
