Mountain Hollow
Malawi Agate Pair
Malawi Agate is a variety of chalcedony known for its intricate banding and earthy coloration, often combining translucent gray, brown, cream, and white. Like other agates, its distinctive patterns develop as successive layers of silica are deposited within cavities in the host rock.
This complementary pair has been cut and polished on one face to reveal translucent smoky-gray chalcedony bordered by crisp, scalloped white banding. Portions of the dark natural exterior remain intact, creating a striking contrast between the rough outer surface and patterned interior. Together, the two pieces offer a beautiful look at both the exterior and internal structure of the agate.
