Polished Malawi Agate

Malawi Agate is a variety of chalcedony distinguished by its layered patterns and earthy coloration. Like other agates, it forms as silica-rich material fills cavities in rock over time, creating successive bands of microscopic quartz that can produce intricate patterns when exposed and polished.

This polished piece features a translucent reddish-brown center framed by fine cream and pale gray banding, with areas of the natural outer surface remaining along the edge. The polish reveals both the depth of the chalcedony and the contrast between its smooth interior and textured exterior.
