Sapphire is a variety of the mineral corundum, an aluminum oxide. While corundum occurs in several colors, the name sapphire is most closely associated with its characteristic blue varieties, colored primarily by trace amounts of iron and titanium.

This natural rough crystal has a distinct elongated form with muted blue coloration and visible natural crystal faces.
