Mountain Hollow
Silver Banded Amethyst | Last Chance Mine, Colorado — #2
$9
Silver Banded Amethyst is a distinctive form of amethyst characterized by layers of pale purple, white, and silvery-gray quartz. Its banding records successive periods of mineral deposition, creating patterns that can vary considerably from one piece to another.
This smaller polished piece has a thin, elongated shape, with soft lavender-gray banding concentrated toward one end and wispy white quartz through the opposite end. Fine darker inclusions add additional natural detail within the otherwise pale coloration.
